Offering private tennis lessons in Riverside, Illinois

"Owen is an intelligent, kind person who is passionate about tennis. He has been instructing my 10-year old daughter for the last two years. Her tennis skills have dramatically improved. She truly enjoys and looks forward to her lessons."

Vanessa - Riverside Mom

Our goal is to foster a deeper understanding and enjoyment of tennis through skill-building, strategy, and match play for individuals at all levels.

"Owen can cater a training session for any level of student. From young children or absolute beginners all the way to NTRP 4.0/4.5 level high school and adult players. Our family has hired Owen for coaching/training everyone in the family."

- Syed - Father of 2

We are SO glad our daughter is taking outdoor tennis lessons with Owen! He is reliable, communicative, and as flexible as possible. After just a few lessons, he made an observation and applied this learning to her subsequent lessons. We've been amazed at how well she is doing and loves taking lessons with him. Thank you Owen!"

-Christine - Riverside Mom

Meet Owen

Owen will be a rising junior in the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Going into his 4th year of tennis instruction, Owen teaches all ages and skill levels. He teaches around the Riverside-Brookfield area, and offers high quality private tennis instruction at an affordable price.

Teaching style

Because most students are beginners, my number one goal is to make sure that we have fun learning the game, and develop an appreciation for the sport.

As we begin to learn, we focus on the fundamentals first, as well as the rules of the game. After learning the basics, we start to develop those skills and apply them in games and short rallies. Once the intermediate level is reached, those skills and abilities are transferred into match play. While playing in matches, strategy, conditioning, and tennis culture is introduced.

Why I love tennis

"I love tennis because it is a worldwide sport, and can be played throughout your entire life. There is a great culture surrounding it, and tennis players are always trying to make each other better."

Thank you for a great 2023 Season!  Check back in May for the 2024 Season!

Game. Set. Match.

A few summers ago, our family took a trip to the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, RI.  We were able to visit the museum and see a day of matches in the Hall of Fame Tournament.  And, were were lucky enough to see Jack Sock play and to get a photo with him!
